The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Labour and Employment, has begged the Nigerian Labour Congress to calmly resolve issues related to removal of fuel subsidy instead of proceeding on strike.
The Minister of Labour, Simon Lalong, who was in the company of the Minister of State for Labour, Nkeiru Onyejeocha, thanked the NLC led by its President Joe Ajaero for honouring the invitation to meet with the Government.
He noted that he was willing to work alongside the unionists to find lasting solutions that will benefit all Nigerians.
In his submission, Ajaero said the workers embarked on the two day warning strike days ago because it was frustrated by the neglect of the working class.
He also expressed dismay that none of the demands raised by the workers, which the government have pledged to meet have been fulfilled.
