Reports in the US indicate Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected at the White House and on Capitol Hill next week.
It comes as Congress debates fresh aid for Ukraine worth a potential $21 billion, and a week after Secretary of State, Antony Blinken announced a $1 billion aid package.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s military said its making advances in the Eastern flank, recapturing the village of Andriivka near the eastern town of Bakhmut which had previously been captured by Russian troops in a bloody battle in May.
Former US Ambassador to NATO, Kurt Volker noted that this latest capture is proof that Ukraine’s counteroffensive may be slow but effective.
