North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un is continuing his mission of acquiring nuclear weapons, with the latest launch of a new submarine, which Pyongyang claims can launch nuclear weapons.
The submarine is named Hero Kim Kun Ok after a North Korean naval officer and historical figure and according to state media is expected to strengthened the country’s nuclear deterrent.
In photographs released by state media, Kim is seen standing in a shipyard, surrounded by naval officers, and overshadowed by an enormous black submarine.
The launch has drawn condemnation from South Korea and Japan who have the North’s military activity is posing graver and more imminent threat to neighbouring countries.
