The Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, has promised to fully implement the 2024 budget under transparent supervision, to lay a foundation of sincerity and accountability.
The Governor, represented by his deputy, Peter Odey, said this today in Calabar while declaring open a one-day stakeholders’ budget consultative forum.
According to Odey, if the budget is not fully finally implemented, the state stands the risk of not creating the right opportunity to reduce poverty and hunger or improve healthcare in the state.
On his part, the State Commissioner for Finance, Mike Odere, noted that since resources are scarce the government must ensure proper allocation and utilization to ensure productivity and boost internally generated revenue.
