The Presidential Election Petition Court has struck out the case filed by the Allied Peoples Movement seeking the disqualification of President Bola Tinubu on the grounds of double nomination of the Vice President, Kashim Shettima.
APM filed the case on the grounds that Shettima was nominated as Tinubu’s running mate while still contesting for the Senatorial seat of the Borno South District.
Presiding Judge, Justice Haruna Tsammani said the issue of qualification or nomination of any candidate is a pre election matter
He noted that a political party cannot impose credibility status on any candidate unless as prescribed by section 65, 131 and 137 of the constitution.
