Former Governor of Ekiti State, and Chieftain of the All-Progressives Congress, APC, Kayode Fayemi says the APC was simply playing politics when it organised protests to resist the removal of fuel subsidies by the President GoodLuck Jonathan-led Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2012.
Fayemi said this at the 60th birthday celebration of the founding National Secretary of Alliance for Democracy and Fellow, Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Professor Udenta Udenta in Abuja.
According to him, all political parties in the country agreed and included subsidy removal in their manifesto, but ACN at the time, decided to play politics with a protest against the action.
While condemning Nigeria’s political ideology of “winners take all”, Fayemi noted that proportional representation is the lasting solution to the current challenges facing the nation.
He equally commended Former president Goodluck Jonathan, saying that the last time Nigeria experienced economic development was during his administration.
