Minister of Humanitarian Affairs,Betta Edu to Partner Local Government, Others in Updating Social Register

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, says the Federal Government intends to work closely with state governors, local government and community leaders to verify and update the social register of the country.

Edu said this in a televised interview today, stating that the ministry will kick start humanitarian trust funds to cater for the needs of displaced persons and to execute the poverty alleviation plans of the president Tinubu administration.

According to the minister, an updated social register will avail the government statistics and accurate data to assist and provide succor for Nigerians, and ensure that ordinary citizens feel the impact of the government

Edu however called on Nigerians to assist the ministry in updating the register for proper intervention and execution of government programs.
