Fresh arraignment of the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, before the High Court Abuja, was again stalled after Emefiele and his co-defendant Saadat Yaro, were present for the proceeding.
Although vacation judge, Justice Hamza Muazu, was on seat, Emefiele’s case was not listed on the court’s cause-list due to fresh developments in the matter.
Meanwhile, indications emerged today that the embattled suspended CBN governor may be exploring a plea bargain deal with federal government.
It will be recalled that Emefiele’s arraignment was equally stalled on August 17, following the absence of the 2nd defendant, Yaro, who is a staff of the apex bank.
