The former Deputy Director of Communication Strategy of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lanre Issa-Onilu, has debunked news that President Tinubu will temporarily return petrol subsidy to ease the pain suffered by Nigerians.
In a televised interview, Onilu stated that the report is unfounded and misleading, insisting that it was not verified by any official of the Tinubu Administration.
According to him, the government is trying to address everything along the value chain to ensure that there is smooth operation for all stakeholders.
With the attendant economic effects of subsidy removal including food inflation, there had been rumours and reports that the President was considering to temporarily return the subsidy regime to ease the hardship faced by many Nigerians.
