Dear Mr. Oseni Rufai,
I hope this message finds you well. Firstly, I wanted to express my admiration for your exceptional work in the field of journalism. Your dedication to uncovering truth and delivering news has truly made a significant impact, and I hold you in high regard.
My name is Peres Agari, and I am a Legal Practitioner currently residing in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. I am reaching out to you today with a grave concern that demands urgent attention and collective action. You see, I am deeply troubled by the recent events that unfolded at the University of Calabar’s Law Faculty.
Yesterday, students of the Faculty of Law protested against Professor Cyril Ndifon, the Dean of Law, due to allegations of misconduct and unacceptable behavior. This incident has triggered painful memories from 2015 when a similar scandal emerged involving Professor Ndifon. At that time, I was a student at the same university and witnessed firsthand the traumatic incident that affected my dear friend (The victim).
I firmly believe that it is our collective responsibility to speak out against such heinous acts and ensure that sexual predators are removed from positions of power. Back in 2015, we managed to shed light on the misconduct, leading to some form of justice. However, it is disheartening to witness a recurrence of these disturbing events.
I kindly request your assistance in using your influential platform to shed light on this matter once again. Your voice can play a crucial role in exposing such predators and advocating for a safer and more just environment within our educational institutions.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Your support in addressing this critical issue would mean a great deal not only to me but to countless others who are affected by such injustices. Please let me know if there is any additional information or assistance I can provide.
Sincerely,
Peres Agari
