The board of Nigeria professional football league has informed Club Owners Association that the resumption date of the upcoming season has been shifted to September 9, 2023.

The reason for the shift in date includes a tight schedule for Enyimba FC, Bendel Insurance and Remo Stars who will be in action at the CAF’s Inter Club competitions on the weekend of August 26 and modalities for streaming and media presence.

The upcoming season was initially scheduled by the NPFL board to begin on August 26, following a meeting with the NPFL board and club owners.
