The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has threatened to embark on strike without any formal notice to the Federal Government should there be another increase in the pump price of fuel.
NLC President, Joe Ajaero, who issued the warning at the ongoing African Alliance of Trade Unions meeting in Abuja, said they would be left with no choice but to embark on strike unless negotiations are concluded and palliatives put in place first.
Ajaero pleaded with government to checkmate what he deemed as bad economic polices that have made workers wages baseless, adding that if inflation was not high and there was no currency devaluation, Workers would remain content with the N30,000 minimum wage.
He also slammed the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun for attempting to unduly usurp the functions of the Ministry of Labour by intervening in its disputes.
