Edo State deputy governor, Philip Shaibu has described the rift between him and his principal, governor, Godwin Obaseki as a ploy by unpatriotic persons to distabilise the government.

Reacting to a statement, by Governor Obaseki where he alleged desperation and a coup to oust him, Shuaibu denied the allegations and pledged his loyalty to the governor.

According to him, political jobbers sold the coup dummy to the governor whom he referred to as his ‘elder brother’ with a view to provoking more crisis so they could profit off it.

Recall Shaibu and Governor Obaseki have been embroiled in a secret war over loyalty, succession and political alignments.
