The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun has offered assurances to Police Officers who dedicate themselves to the job that they would gain promotion.
Addressing officers and men of the Kano State Police Command, Egbetokun said there would be no more special promotions in the Force as elevation would be strictly based on merit.
Egbetokun further enjoined the personnel to shun extortion and other corrupt acts in order to enhance their pubic image in the ongoing fight against criminal elements in the society.
He also disclosed that the Force Criminal Investigations Department would be reorganised such that only qualified and competent officers would function in the department as well as state commands.
