The family of the former Governor of Lagos State, Lateef Jakande, has appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to rename the Lagos State University, Ojoo, after him.

This request was made by the Late Jakande’s son, Seyi at the Lateef Jakande Annual Memorial Lecture, 2023, organised by the Nigerian Guild of Editors.

He said LASU was the brain child of his late father and should be considered for such honour.

Sanwo-Olu, represented by his deputy, Femi Hamzat, in his address, described Jakande’s life as a reflection of humanity at its abundance with several stories of positive impacts.
