Adams Oshiomole’s Tales By Moonlight.
Adams Oshiomole was on TV last night on Channels Politics. He said some weird and shocking things.
- He said his cleaners earn N60k a month, and called the minimum wage a criminal wage; but he had no problem in praising and justifying the propose N8k palliative transfer to households. Dear Adams, if N30k is a criminal wage, N8k is a genocide wage.
- He said his office at the National Assembly and those of his colleagues, were vandalized and he had to buy most of the things needed. He confirmed our fears about the wickedness of the ruling political elites. No one will be arrested and prosecuted for such egregious crimes. Shocking!
- He said he does not know how much he earns as a senator. Lie! He has been paid his first salary and other allowances already. Maybe he didn’t bother to look at them because there is too much elsewhere. Deceitful!
- He also said the salaries and allowances of National Assembly members has not been reviewed since 1999 by RMAFC. Lie! The National Assembly members fix their salaries and allowances and do not follow the prescriptions of RMAFC. If their salaries and allowances have not been reviewed since 1999, how and why did their annual budgets grow from N20B to N219B today? What were all the fights about the budgets between the Executive and the Legislature about?
- He said we didn’t elect a magician as president and they didn’t promise that they will do xyz within so and so periods. Political mansplaining! We have been here before, haven’t we? They will load us with hopes to win and when confronted with reality, they deny. Politicians campaign in poetry, govern in prose. They will promise heaven and deliver the earth. Let me tell us what they promised to do and when to do so. We forget the campaign promises because they were under the influence of poliambition-political ambition. Waiting!
Politicians will promise to give you the moon and deliver the earth you already have!
