Vice President Kashim Shettima has received United Nations Deputy Secretary General Amina Mohammed and the Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai in the Presidential Villa.
According to the Girl child rights activist, her visit to the Vice President was in continuation of her advocacy for girl-child education.
Speaking to State House Correspondents, Yousafzai estimated that over 120 million female children were still deprived of education, despite the benefits inherent in it.
She urged all tiers of government in Nigeria to make deliberate efforts to send girls to school and ensure that every child in Nigeria has access to complete education.
In his response, vice President Kashim Shettima stated that president Tinubu’s administration has adequate plans to extend the tentacles of education to crannies of the nation.
