Local NGO Socio -economic rights and Accountability project, SERAP has hinted that only 2% of Freedom of information Act requests are successful , stating that government agencies have constantly refused to give information to the public over government activities.
The Freedom of Information Act 2011 gives everyone the right to request information, whether or not contained in any written form, which is in the custody or possession of any public official, agency or institution howsoever described.
