The Anambra Government has set up a panel of inquiry into the controversy trailing the high score of a candidate from the state, Mmesoma Ejikeme in the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Ejikeme, who had earlier been showcased on social media as having scored the highest marks of 362 was accused by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board of scoring just 249 and falsifying her high scores.
But the Commissioner for Education in Anambra, Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, described the controversy on the Ejikeme’s actual result as embarrassing, especially coming at a time when Governor Chukwuma Soludo was repositioning the education sector in Anambra.
Earlier, the management of Innoson Automobile Company said it had commenced investigations into the same matter.
Head of Corporate Communications at Innoson Group, Cornel Osigwe, described the allegation of results falsification as strange, noting that it conducted an independent verification of the results before giving her the three million Naira scholarship.
He said if the company finds out that the girl actually manipulated her result for obvious reasons, the company would withdraw the scholarship.
He added that the scholarship would stand if the company finds out that the mistake was actually from JAMB.
