Venezuelan Authorities have barred Presidential hopeful Maria Machado from holding public office for 15 years based on administrative irregularities during her tenure as a deputy.
The 55-year-old Machado is from the most radical wing of the opposition and was the opposition’s most favorite candidate to run for president.
It is suspected that her ban is based on her support for US sanctions against the incumbent Nicolas Maduro.
The opposition has accused the government of using the bans to maintain the status quo and prevent change in government.
