The Nigeria Immigration Service has promoted 7, 000 officers across various ranks and departments in the service as approved by its Board.
A statement from Acting Public Relations Officer of NIS, Kenneth Kure, noted that the promotion was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary of the Immigration, Civil Defense, Correctional and Fire Service Board, Jafaru Ahmed.
He added that Acting Comptroller General, Wuraola Adepoju appointed erstwhile Service Spokesman, Tony Akuneme as Comptroller of the Federal Capital Territory Command as well as Comptroller Joseph Dada as her new Principal Staff Officer.
Adepoju who decried the stagnation of some older officers, promised to prioritize personnel welfare, asserting that henceforth promotion would be based strictly on seniority, hard work and dedication to duty.
