The Department of State Services (DSS) says there are plans by suspected terrorists to carry out attacks on places of worship and recreational centres before and during the Eid-el- Kabir celebration.
In a statement on Thursday evening, Peter Afunanya, spokesperson of the DSS, called for more vigilance prior to the Islamic festival.
He said, “reports had indicated plans to attack worship and recreational centres before and during the festivities”.
Afunanya said primed improvised explosive devices (IED) recovered from suspected terrorists during a raid in Kogi and Nasarawa states were evidence of the planned attacks.
