The Acting Inspector–General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has officially assumed office at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The former IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, officially handed over to Egbetokun at noon in Abuja.
Speaking shortly after, the Acting IG said the Force will strive for excellence and accountability to Nigerians.
While calling on all Nigerians to partner with the Force in the transformative journey he would be embarking on, he urged Nigerians to collaborate with the police to build trust, restore confidence in our law enforcement institutions, and create a Nigeria where every citizen stays safe.
Recall that Vice President, Kashim Shettima decorated Egbetokun with his new rank at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.
