The National Industrial Court today reiterated that the order restraining the Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) from embarking on their planned industrial action subsists.
When the case was called, the Federal Government’s counsel, Ochum Emmanuel claimed he was ready to proceed with his application as the defendants had been served but the defendants’ counsel submitted that the claimant was served the application on June 8.
He added that he was shocked to have received a counter-affidavit some minutes before today’s hearing on the suit by the Federal Government to stop the organised labour from embarking on strike and demanded an adjournment.
Justice Olufunke Anuwe subsequently granted the adjournment but heeded Emmanuel’s prayer, restating that the order restraining the NLC and TUC from embarking on strike subsists.
