
Nigeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Abiodun Adejola, has been elected Chair of the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) governing body.
Speaking after the election, Adejola said he will ensure that President Bola Tinubu’s policies that affect workers and employers, align with global best practices.
Adejola’s tenure as ILO board chairperson will end in June 2024.
Adejola has been Nigeria’s permanent representative to the UN in Geneva since February 2021, taking over from Tijjani Muhammad-Bande.
Adejola joined Nigeria’s foreign service on October 11, 1993.
