Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Member representing Surulere federal Constituency 1, Femi Gbajabiamila has resigned his membership of the 10th house of representatives.
Gbajabiamila’s resignation letter was read during plenary by his successor, Tajudeen Abbas.
Gbajabiamila said his resignation is to enable him assume the role of chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu.
The former Speaker left the Chamber to a standing ovation from members and was escorted out by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and a few other members.
