The Federal Government has declared Monday, June 12, a public holiday to commemorate this year’s Democracy Day celebration.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Oluwatoyin Akinlade, on behalf of the Federal Government.
Noting that Nigeria’s democracy has encountered encountered both stormy and smooth sails, She urged Nigerians to appreciate the progress that has been made and look forward to a better future for the country.
She applauded Nigerians for their sacrifice and commitment to unity and greatness of the nation while appealing for sustained cooperation to better the lot of the nation.
