The House of Assembly has elected lawmaker representing Gboko West, Aondona Dajoh, as its speaker after three rounds of voting.
He scored 17 votes to defeat His rival, Becky Orpine representing Gboko East who got 15 votes.
However, Dajoh’s emergence was not without drama as he tied with opine during the first round of voting and while lawmakers then demanded a cancellation of the second round of voting over alleged influence on the voting process.
Dajoh who is said to have been backed by Governor Hyacinth Alia emerged on the third count.
