Human Rights Lawyer, Femi Falana, has described the decision of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to increase pump price of PMS as illegal.
He was speaking on the sideline of an emergency meeting of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) National Executive Council in Abuja.
Falana said NNPCL as a limited liability company does not have any legal power to jack up the price of petroleum.
He urged the federal government to go back to the drawing board with a view to finding alternative solution to the problem.
Falana also said Nigerians will challenge the decision, adding that the solution to the fuel problem will be both legal and political.
