Two Senators of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mathew Urhogide representing Edo South Senatorial District and Ayo Akinyelure of Ondo Central Senatorial District have resigned from the party.
In their separate resignations letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, Urhogide premised his decision on the inability of the party to reconcile the power struggle at the national and state levels.
On his part, Akinyelure said his resignation will allow him focus on the development of his state and local government.
He clarified that his resignation would take effect on June 11 when the ninth senate would have come to an end.
