The Nigerian National Petrol Company Limited, NNPCL, has confirmed an increase in its pump prices of petrol to reflect current market realities.
Recall that Veonewsng had reported how petrol stations were selling the product for N488 and N495 in parts of Lagos Island earlier.
The price change was confirmed by NNPCL Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Garba Deen Muhammad who also apologised for the inconveniences in the sudden announcement.
The statement read, “As we strive to provide you with the quality service for which we are known, it is pertinent to note that prices will continue to fluctuate to reflect market dynamics.
“We assure you that NNPC Limited is committed to ensuring a ceaseless supply of products.
“The company sincerely regrets any inconvenience this development may have caused.
“We greatly appreciate your continued patronage, support, and understanding during this time of change and growth.”
This is coming 48 hours after new President; Bola Tinubu affirmed an end to fuel subsidy which has been met with mixed reaction from Nigerians.
