ELECTION TRIBUNAL: ATIKU TO HAVE 100 WITNESSES

Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party will be presenting about 100 witnesses for hearing of his petition challenging the victory of Bola Tinubu in the Presidential Election.

This forms the key highlight at the continuation of the pre-hearing on Atiku’s petition at the Presidential Election Petition Court this Saturday.

Atiku through his lawyer, Chris Uche, informed the Court that parties have met and agreed on the number of witnesses and the duration for evidence in chief and cross examination of the witnesses.

Atiku Abubakar said he will need three weeks to complete the assignment on the proposed 100 witnesses he intends to help prove his petition.

INEC says it will bring two witnesses against Atiku’s petition, while Bola Tinubu will provide 39 witnesses as the APC settles for 25 to counter evidence against the electoral outcome.

Tinubu and the APC say they will need just 9 days each to state their case in opposition to the petition seeking to nullifying the outcome of the presidential election.
