The outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has debunked reports that he received $15 million on behalf of federal lawmakers to fasttrack the passage of the N22 trillion Ways and Means.
Recall the House earlier this month approved President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for restructuring of N22.7 trillion loan from the Central Bank of Nigeria extended to the Federal Government under its Ways and Means provision as well as an additional sum of N1 trillion l for the implementation of the 2022 Supplementary Appropriation Act.
But speaking at a support meeting for a Speakership Aspirant, Tajudeen Abbas, Gbajabiamila said Reports that he intended to dole out the $15m to lawmakers for approving the loan was a lie.
He said such lies were expected due to the different interests represented in the race to the Speakership of the House.
