A man, attempting to evade arrest in Kaduna has killed himself with an improvised explosive device (IED).
Confirming the development, Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, Muhammed Jalige, said the incident occurred at Keke community in the Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the victim has been on the radar of security agencies who trailed him to an apartment in Keke community where he has been hiding.
But sensing that the security operatives were closing in on him, the suspected terrorist blew himself up with an improvised explosive device.
An AK-47 rifle and explosive devices were recovered from the man’s apartment by security operatives who also took his wife and children away for further investigation.
