The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has postponed the hearing of the petitions filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and the Allied Peoples Movement, apm.
The APM had adopted Atiku as its candidate ahead of the presidential election, prompting its candidate, ChiChi Ojei, to describe her party’s action as despicable and a setback for Nigerian women.
The presiding judge representing the tribunal panel, Justice Haruna Tsammni, postponed the hearing of their petitions to Tuesday.
The APM joined the Independent National Electoral Commission, the All Progressives Congress, Bola, Tinubu, Kashim Shettima and Kabir Masari, who stood as the APC placeholder during the primary election before he was later substituted with Shettima, in the petition.
According to the APM, Tinubu and Shettima were not qualified to contest the election on the grounds of the alleged double nomination of the vice president-elect.
