The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will start releasing the results of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Board (UTME) on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

This was part of decisions reached at the end of an emergency management meeting held on Sunday, April 30, 2023, where it was decided that all categories of candidates who have not sat their examination should do so on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

Speaking on the delay to the release of the results, the board said it was to conclude all necessary screenings and ensure that the mean and standard deviation were reasonably obtained before releasing the results.

The examination body had earlier rescheduled the conduct of the 2023 UTME from Tuesday, April 25, 2023, to Tuesday, May 2, 2023, and informed Nigerians that it would be using some innovative methods to completely arrest incidences of examination infractions.

Despite recording the lowest reported cases of infractions, some candidates could not sit the examination on the first day due to diverse reasons, and only 80,166 candidates out of the 1,586,765 that indicated an interest in sitting the examination are still outstanding.
