The relevant authorities along the borders of Sudan have been urged by the Federal Government to establish corridors for approximately 7,000 nationals, including Nigerians, to access their destinations without hindrance.
According to the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, these nationals have been unable to cross the border into Egypt since arriving at the Sudan border on Thursday.
A statement signed by Head of Publicity Unit at NIDCOM, Gabriel Odu claimed the Nigerian Mission in Egypt has been working tirelessly to help Nigerians, as the Egyptian authorities insist on verification of visas by fellow Africans before they can return to their countries.
Abike appealed to the Egyptian authorities to allow the already distressed travelers to transit to their final destinations in various African countries.
