Tragedy struck in the Iganmu, Apapa area of Lagos State on Wednesday as fire razed a complex housing five fully detached warehouses and destroying properties worth millions.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, confirmed this in a statement, adding that there was no casualty recorded during the tragic fire incident.
The Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Femi Okey-Osanyintolu noted that while the agency was investigating the cause of the incident, it already observed a stand-alone diesel storage tank, a 33,000 litre tanker with no registration number, a mini tanker and a fiat bus with registration number unknown also gutted fire.
He explained that the agency’s excavator will be required to pull down the warehouse structure in order to avert any crash on the responders and users of the environment.
