Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State says he would return to the farm after losing his senatorial bid but says he takes pride in defending the principle of power shift during the 2023 elections.
Ortom, in a televised interview, made light of his loss in the Benue North West Senatorial election, comparing it to “bad market”.
“This time around, the market isn’t good, but I will be here [as Benue governor] till May 29, when I will hand over by the grace of God.
“I will find something else to do. I may go back to my farm as far as I’m concerned.”
He however admitted that he was proud that he helped preserve the unity of Nigeria by supporting power rotation to the South since the Incumbent President (Muhammadu Buhari) was from the north.
