Governor Ademola Adeleke has hailed the people of the state for reposing confidence in the Peoples Democratic Party in the state following its victory in 25 out of 26 state Constituencies.

In a statement by his Spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, the Governor said the results were a complete embrace of the party by state residents.

The Independent National Electoral Commission’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mutiu Agboke said the PDP won in 25 constituencies while the All Progressives Congress, Olufemi Popoola won in Boripe/Boluwaduro State Constituency.

Popoola polled 15,594 votes to defeat PDP’s Adesina Aina, that got 14,817 votes.

Among those who failed to win reelection in Osun is the Speaker of the Assembly, representing Ilesa East, Timothy Owoeye who was seeking a 5th term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
