Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has announced a donation of N200 million and N50 million to victims of the recent fire disasters at Singer and Kurmi markets.

The markets were engulfed by fire, which razed down many shops, causing the owners to lose items worth several millions of naira as well as other unquantifiable valuables.

This was disclosed by Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Muhammad Garba who insisted that the release of the fund was aimed at providing an immediate succour to the affected traders who lost their valuables to the fire.

He said the leadership of the traders’ associations in the markets had been formally presented with the cheques by the governor at the Government House, Kano.
