The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied appointing a former commissioner in Lagos state, Femi Odubiyi, as head of its information and communications technology (ICT) department.

The Commission issued the denial today in a statement signed by National Commissioner, Festus Okoye.

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bode George had alleged that the former commissioner is the new head of ICT at INEC and demanded his removal due to his closeness to the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.

However, in the statement, INEC explained that the name Femi Odubiyi does not exist within the ICT Department at the INEC headquarters in Abuja or any State office of the Commission

The allegations forms part of other claims that have been raised after INEc failed to electronically transmit results from polling units in real-time during the Presidential elections.
