Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has weighed in on the controversial outfit by Nigerian Grammy winning Singer, Tems, noting that she helped put Nigerian on the global map.

Tems wore a sculpted Lever Couture gown for the 2023 Academy Awards which blocked people behind her from seeing the stage which generated criticisms.

But, Edochie praised Tems for putting Nigeria on the map and advised her detractors to attend the Oscars first before criticising her attire.

He wrote, “Before you criticise @temsbaby for her Oscar dress, attend the Oscars first. Just like Will Smith’s slap did last year, Tems stole the show this year. Congratulations girl. We’re proud of you. Nigeria is proud of you.”

Recall that Tems was at the 2023 Oscars not just as a guest but as a nominee for co-writing ‘Lift me up’ which was performed by Rihanna for Black Panther II and nominated for best score.
