President Muhammadu Buhari has directed all security agencies to ensure a safe electoral exercise for Nigerians and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission alike.

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, stated this while briefing journalists after the National Security Council’s maiden meeting for 2023 chaired by the President on Wednesday at the Aso Villa, Abuja.

The Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, also said the council was satisfied with the level of security nationwide, therefore, elections would hold in a safe atmosphere.

According to Malami, enough preparations have been made ahead of Saturday’s polls.

Asked about the Supreme Court hearing which has been adjourned to March 3, 2023, Malami said the decision of the court would be studied.
