Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari has disowned the post on her Instagram and Facebook page alleging that the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, ordered Deposit Money Banks to collect the old N500 and 1000 notes.
The First Lady had posted a statement purportedly issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria, that the old notes would now be collected until May, 2023.
But Aisha, who blamed the post on criminals who may have hacked her account, said the post has been deleted on her order.
In a rebuttal posted on her Facebook page, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari lamented how the alleged hackers toiled with her previous posts.
The apex bank had since debunked the report.
