Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra has directed youths in Anaku community in Ayamelum local government council to immediately release a soldier who was abducted when troops were sent to maintain peace in the troubled area.

Security operatives, including soldiers, were deployed to restore peace to the area when the youths led by their kingpin identified simply by the nick Vulture reportedly killed eight persons and injured many in Omor Community last Monday.

They abducted the solider and took away his service gun.

The governor’s directive was disclosed by the transition committee chairman of Ayamelum local government area, Livinus Onyenwe who asked the soldiers to remain in town until the perpetrators are found and brought to book.
