Today the campaign train of the APC was ambushed in Opobo town, in Rivers State.
This happened moments after the APC governorship candidate and his entourage intercepted a team of security agents who forcefully took away the Local Government Campaign Director, after destroying the venue already setup for todays rally.
On getting to Opobo, half way into the small community, the APC Gubernatorial Candidate’s convoy was intercepted by thugs who started throwing bottles and destroying vehicles. This was followed by sporadic shooting from all corners.
In the mist of the chaos, Pastor Tonye Cole addressed his supporters in front of the palace of King Jaja, the spot they were barricaded. Tonye said no form of intimidation will stop the APC from campaigning and no form of violence will stop the APC from winning in Rivers State.
The assistant commissioner of police was present and ensured the attackers were repelled.
Opobo is done and the message was loud and clear!
