Dear Mr Rufai,

Good evening

I listen to Arise channel everyday day even at work and I appreciate the work your team is doing.

Please can you say something regarding this Nigeria visa ban in UAE?

I have been working and living here as an expert since 2016, and to be honest it worth it, but as you are aware, some I’ll-mannered Nigerians has been bringing down Nigeria’s name.

The visa issue has affected hundreds of Nigerians in getting new visa although, renewals is going through but new visas for people changing jobs is currently blocked.

My friend, A safety professional got a good offer from a sister company and needed to cancel his existing visa in order to take the new job, due to this ban, he is not able to get the new visa. The new company has started searching for another candidate to take up the job while his old company cannot take him back because he does not have a valid visa.

Now Mr Rufai, Do you see how been a Nigerian can be biggest problem today? Do you see how my friend’s job is slipping away because he holds a Nigeria passport?

Can the media give this issue more publicity please. since Nigerians in UAE is contributing  immensely to the remittances.

I personally believe that the issue can be resolved when Nigerian foreign minister gives it a go, so far, i don’t think a lot has been done.

Please see if you can say something about it and let’s see if we can get a reaction from Nigerian foreign minister who is suppose to be on this issue negotiating way forward.

Regards

Victor Nwamadi.
