A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Friday, nullified the last October 15 local government elections conducted by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission.

In his judgment, Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel said the election was held in contravention of Sections 29 and 32 of the Electoral Act, 2022.

The Peoples Democratic Party had approached the court asking it to stop the Osun State Electoral Commission from going ahead with the planned polls.

Other respondents in the matter include INEC, the All Progressives Cngress and its then chairman, Adeboyega Famoodun.
