Olukayode Joseph, age 50, is said to have drugged her 14-year-old daughter with medicines and raped her in Ogun State.
Joseph was detained on Thursday by members of the Ogun So-Safe Corps, who accused him of transforming the adolescent girl into a “sex machine.”
Friday, Moruf Yusuf, the spokesperson for So-Safe Corps, shared this information in a statement.
Yusuf said that the agency received a distress call alleging that Joshua, a resident of Akinbo Phase 2, Opposite Ola Fatia House, Olambe in the Ifo Local Government Area of the State, had sexual contact with his daughter.
Yusuf said that the State Commander, Soji Ganzallo, ordered the Divisional Officer of the Corps in Oke-Aro/Olambe, SC Akeem Olaiya, to immediately arrest the suspect.
He claimed that the Agbado Area Command sent more personnel to the crime site to shield the suspected rapist from jungle justice.
Yusuf said, “During preliminary inquiry, the suspect confessed to the crime and begged for forgiveness after realising he had no place to conceal his secret dealings with his innocent daughter.”
Further investigation revealed that the victim had accused her father of repeatedly sleeping with her after drugging her.
She said, “I used to see just white discharges from my private region.”
However, the suspect denied sedated his daughter before having intercourse with her, claiming it was their first encounter.
Yusuf said that the culprit and victim were taken to the Ajuwon Police Division for further investigation.
